Every Saturday in July (excluding the weekend before July 4)\, we’re featuring activities focusing on animals and literacy. \nEach week\, a different animal resident will receive an enrichment activity in the shape of the first letter of the species – so the gorillas will be playing with a giant G\, the lions with an enormous L and so on! \nThe series\, dubbed “A is for Animal\, B is for Book” will include educational chats from zookeepers and a book-reading by Big Joe the Storyteller at 11:00 a.m. We’ll also have a scavenger hunt for little zoo sleuths! \nSchedule*: \n\nG for Gorilla: July 9\nL for Lion: July 16\nK for Kangaroo: July 23\nR for Red Panda: July 30\n\n*Animals will receive their enrichment activity at 10:00 a.m. Time and animals are subject to change.

SUMMARY:Big Joe Runs a Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Usually I run my mouth a lot\, but today I am running the rest of me!  I will be taking part in the Run To Remember Half Marathon in Boston for the 17th(!) time!  The organization raises money for the families of fallen police officers and other first responders so it is a lot of running for a good cause!  If you are in Boston today come and check things out and you maybe will get a glimpse of me running – I am kind of slow so you will have a lot of chances 🙂
